Beginner Guitar Gear & Options
🎯 The Default Option
We usually suggest starter kits in case students lose interest or for budget reasons. As an alternative to custom setups, here’s what we typically recommend:
Fender Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar Kit
Covers all the basics. The guitar is well made and to the specs needed. Comes with practice amp strap, pics. Only difference: it doesn’t have a Floyd Rose, though one can be added later with minor modifications.
Lekato Loop Pedal
A solid and affordable looping pedal to practice, build layers, and write riffs.
Snark Tuner
Reliable, clip-on tuner for fast tuning accuracy.

🎸 Suggestions for Guitars with a Floyd Rose
🔥 My Top Pick: Kramer Striker
Versatile and future-proof. It’s my strongest recommendation for a guitar with a Floyd Rose system.
Jackson Dinky
Just as good in build quality as the Striker, but slightly more limited stylistically.
Fender Super Strat
Another strong option, especially if you prefer Fender's tone and feel.
✅ Tip: Try before you buy, if possible. Comfort and feel matter more than brand.

🔊 Amps & Quiet Practice Options

This is the amp we use at the school—great tone, reliable, and good for home or small venue use.
Lekato Headphone Amp with Tuner
Compact, affordable, and includes a tuner—perfect for quiet practice.
