Satch's Musical Range: From Pop to Progressive

One thing that's really awesome about Joe (Satriani) is his ability to think like a songwriter, not just a guitar virtuoso (which he definitely is!). In fact, he's the perfect example of someone who can do both, and you can see it in these videos where he explains his process. It's such a huge influence on me because he's not just a shredder, he's a creator who can craft beautiful melodies and emotional landscapes in his music. He's got a wide range too, from simple pop-type melodies to mind-blowing fusion and progressive guitar styles. I hope you enjoy these as much as I have, because Joe is definitely one of my favorites!

"Play it like it is" tabs to 2 classic Satch Albums IMHO

Crystal Planet - Play it like it is

Surfing With the Alien - Play it like it is

Joe Has been a huge influence on my playing and songwriting approach.

This original song was inspired by Joe. Check Out “Making Love”
